Why is that?
Ethernet is now found in many industrial applications as it is easy to install and connect, there are many Ethernet I/O modules and data is easily transferred to the SCADA solution or via the cloud to e.g. Azure or Amazon.
But in most cases, the size of the devices and the price is an important factor.
Moxa's new EDS-2000 series has been developed to offer more compact devices at a lower price point.

Models.
The EDS-2000 series starts at the very small and compact 5-port versions, in plastic or metal, with a height smaller than a credit card.
The 8-port models in the same series are also available in a version with built-in Multimode fiber, SC or ST connectors.
The products are developed and based on quality components, so they live up to Moxa's renowned high quality and can be chosen for the more demanding installations that need to run 24×7.
And with the new design, Moxa has also managed to get the products ready for sale at a price below what we normally see for similar Ethernet switches.

QoS.
The more devices you connect via Ethernet, the more traffic. Some data is more important to get quickly than others, which you can control via QoS.
QoS makes it possible to assign a value to all TCP packets so that the packets with the highest value come through the switch first, they have higher priority. Examples include VoIP or controlling I/O modules.
QoS is commonly used in larger installations with many Ethernet devices, but has until now required the purchase of more expensive managed switches.
The EDS-2000 series is the first Unmanged switch to support QoS. So if you are using QoS in your installation(s) today, or plan to do so, this series can save you even more money.

Complete series.
From Moxa we can deliver Ethernet switches from the small, compact and cheaper switches up to the more complex ones with many ports, special approvals etc.
