What is an industrial relay?
An industrial relay is an electrical component used for monitoring, protecting and controlling electrical systems. Among other things, relays are used to detect faults, monitor voltage and current, and protect equipment against damage and operational disruptions.
How do I choose the right relay?
The choice depends on the application, the electrical parameters and the functions to be monitored or controlled. Factors such as voltage type (AC or DC), load, safety requirements and the installation environment play an important role. We’d be happy to help you identify the best solution for your needs.
When is earth fault monitoring used?
Earth fault monitoring is used in installations where it is important to detect insulation faults at an early stage in order to avoid downtime, damage to equipment or safety risks. It is particularly relevant in battery systems, power stations, industry and critical infrastructure.
What is the difference between AC and DC monitoring?
AC monitoring is used in alternating current systems, whilst DC monitoring has been developed for direct current systems such as battery systems, UPS installations and renewable energy systems. The two types require different measurement principles and relay technologies to ensure accurate monitoring.
