AIG-101 Moxa's new IIoT gateway

AIG-101 is a 2-port Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP to MQTT/Azure/AWS cloud-ready IIoT gateway

Meet the AIG-101 – Moxa's new IIoT gateway

Easily, quickly, and securely collect your local data and transfer it to your cloud solution—no complicated and expensive programming required. AIG-101 is a user-friendly IIoT gateway that communicates with local Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP slave devices, and the selected data is automatically sent to your cloud solution, where it can be displayed on graphs, processed for process optimization, or used to predict and prevent potential errors.

Properties:

  • MQTT client for connecting to controllers based on the MQTT protocol.
  • Built-in feature that automatically connects the AIG-101 to your Azure or AWS cloud solution via MQTT.
  • Modbus RTU/ASCII master and TCP client
  • Modbus TCP server
  • Data that is retrieved and stored in a buffer if there are temporary connection problems.
  • Operating temperature range from -40 to 70°C
  • Available with or without LTE Cat.1 modem, including GPS.

Advantages:

  • No programming required, ready to use right away.
  • Configuration and setup are easy via the device's web browser, which guides the user.
  • Can be quickly and easily expanded with additional Modbus I/O modules, easy to understand and navigate.
  • Communication and configuration errors can be quickly identified using the help functions available in the web browser.
  • Remote access to the device is possible, saving maintenance costs.
  • Easy integration with Moxa ioLogik I/O modules.
  • Can be expanded with additional serial ports via Moxa's UPort series.

Introduction to Moxas AIG-101 gateway

AIG-101 is an IIoT gateway that retrieves data from Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP I/O modules and sends it to your Azure, AWS, or MQTT cloud solution.

Existing devices that communicate via Modus RTU/ASCII/TCP, perhaps even from before IIoT was invented, can easily be connected to the AIG-101 and thus used in an up-to-date solution.

If you need the collected data in both the cloud solution and locally in the SCADA control system, this is easily accomplished, as the AIG-101 also supports Modbus/TCP server mode in parallel.

Examples of use

Due to the user-friendly setup and configuration of the AIG-101, this model has many applications. It does not require expensive and complex programming, and if you know a little about Modbus, you can configure this device in an hour and have the necessary data available in your chosen cloud solution.

Today, many people want to collect as much data as possible in order to subsequently process, report, optimize, and identify trends. This data is collected and processed in the cloud solution, but retrieved far away from the local device, e.g., in a production facility.

A consultant who develops cloud solutions often has limited experience with the OT environment and therefore also limited knowledge of, for example, I/O modules that communicate Modbus. This is where the AIG-101 comes into its own. The OT engineer can now help make data available without having experience with programming and cloud solutions.
